2012 Argo 8x8 750 HDi Amphibious SxS / UTV Test Ride Review
::Continued::

If passengers start getting out the machine can usually recover, especially in water. As the weight lessens the Argo starts to float and will dislodge from being stuck.

The 2012 Argo 8x8 750 HDi SxS / UTV makes easy work of deep mud pits where normal SxS / UTVs would get stuck. The Argo 8x8 750 HDi SxS features a high toque V-Twin liquid cooled 747cc, electronic fuel-injected engine with 31 horsepower

“By myself I can go anywhere; I have no fears of getting stuck. Even with a load of people it’s a rare occurrence,” said Tantillo of the Argo 8x8’s capabilities.

The Argo 8x8 750 HDi features a unique steering setup. The driver is seated on the right side of the UTV and steers with handle bars. Speed is controlled with a twist throttle. LCD gauges are very visible and easy to read; gauges include the speedometer, tachometer, odometer, voltmeter, engine coolant temperature and low oil pressures and parking break reminders.

Easy to use light switches are located on the dash along with LCD guages that features a speedometer, tachometer, odometer, voltmeter, & more
Unlike most SxS / UTV's, the 2012 Argo 8x8 750 HDi SxS / UTV uses handlebars with twist throttle instead of a gas pedal that is located on the right side of the machine

“If someone asked me for any complaints about my Argo it would be the steering setup. And that’s only for one reason; the handle bars are on the opposite side from where you drive a car! Sometimes I forget and get in on the left,” said Tantillo of the unique steering set up on the Argo.

The 2012 Argo 8x8 750 HDi SxS / UTV has a top speed of 20 miles per hour on land & 2 miles per hour on water. Although this machine isn't capable of high speeds, it can haul loads up to 1,500lbs on land & 1,000lbs on water

A 31 horsepower engine gives the Argo 8x8 plenty of ability and power. Top speed is around 20 miles per hour on land, which is plenty for a machine with no suspension. It travels around 2 miles per hour or walking speed while in the water. The Argo can also haul loads up to 1,500lbs on land and 1,000lbs on water. The hauling capacity makes it a great companion for hunting or working.

The 2012 Argo 8x8 750 HDi SxS / UTV is chain driven & has an 8 gallon gas tank

The Argo also features dual disk brakes with dual calipers. It is chain driven and comes with the option of a high torque transmission for extreme terrain performance. The heavy duty axles and a full skid plate add to the 8x8’s durability. An eight gallon fuel tank gives almost ten hours of operating time. This is a huge benefit for outdoorsmen who love to make their adventures last.

Other conveniences included in the Argo 8x8 are cup holders, a grab handle and a twelve volt outlet.

Overall we think the Argo 8x8 750 HDi is a great off road vehicle. It features optimum performance both on land and in the water. The amphibious capabilities give the driver so many options and it truly offers a unique riding experience for anyone on board.
