We were fortunate enough to be able to test both the Can-Am Maverick 1000R and 1000R X RS. For our first test drive, we rode a fully loaded Can-Am Maverick 1000R X RS. It was loaded with accessories from a body armor, roof rack, doors, rear tire rack, spare tire, rear nets, audio system, gps system, and more, which made the driving the Maverick feel more like driving off-road in a truck with all the accessories, which impressed our test driver, WORCS SxS Champion, Ryan Piplic.

Can-Am has many factory accessories available for the 2013 Can-Am Maverick 1000R SxS including body armor, roof rack, doors, rear tire rack, audio system, & more |
“I am impressed with all the available accessories for the Maverick,” said Piplic.
While the extra accessories added weight to the Can-Am Maverick, the upgraded suspension handled the load just fine. The 1000R X rs comes with upgraded FOX Podium X Performance RC2.5 piggyback shocks. The shocks are a top of the line FOX product and are fully adjustable. The high speed, low speed compressions, rebound, and preload are easily tuned to fit any terrain and driving style.

A combination of FOX racing shocks and Can-Am's trailing arm gives the 2013 Can-Am Maverick plush suspension & great handling |
We also tried the Maverick 1000 R X rs’ suspension and handling out on the jumps. After hitting quite a few jumps we concluded that the UTV is super predicable in the air and landed well. The Maverick didn’t try to stray and performed really well.

2013 Can-Am Maverick 1000R & 1000R X rs SxS features an impressive 14 in. of travel & 13 in. of ground clearance. Despite catching some big air at the Logandale Trail System we never experienced any bottoming out of the shocks even off harsh landings |
“It was amazing. The landing was plush and with the FOX 2.5 shocks we never bottomed out. I held it pinned, never let off and it impressed me every time,” regards Piplic of the suspension.
