2011 John Deere Gator XUV 825i
2011 John Deere Gator XUV 825i 4x4 Long Term Drive Review

::Continued::

We had the unit professionally serviced at the local John Deere shop, Finch Service Center in Westminster, MD, and it was fixed in just a couple days and the customer service, as always, was unmatched. We have worn out belts during test rides on other brands of UTV’s as our testing process isn’t always gentle, most recently on the Polaris RZR 4 800. This is not a new experience for us, and does not indicate a quality issue with any machine because belts wear out over time, and it is always important to use low gear with towing or climbing any steep inclines because the quickest way to shorten the life of the belt is doing either of these in high gear.

The Gator provides excellent in cab safety, good ergonomics and comfortable seats. We do wish that it had a little more leg room, however, as the wheel wells encroach on the interior of the cab and limits leg room for both the passenger and driver. We hope this is something that John Deere will take into consideration and improve on in future models.

Unfortunately the Gator doesn't feature a digital gas gauge & the CV & air intakes on the Gator are both mounted low, which we hope to see relocated in future models
Inside, the Gator 825i has a digital display that keeps track of speed, RPM’s, coolant temp and includes a clock, trip and lifetime monitor and 4wd indicator. The display is easy to read and is user friendly. The Gator 825i comes in three different color options, traditional John Deere Green and Yellow, Olive and Black, and Camouflage.

John Deere also provides and exceptional inventory of aftermarket accessories that are available directly from the dealer and allows the consumer to customize their Gator during the purchase process and have it delivered already equipped with the options they have chosen. John Deere also provides excellent customer service and is able to do repairs and maintenance at most dealerships adding to the convenience of its customers.

The 2011 John Deere Gator 825i lived up to our expectations after several months of using it at the Peace & Plenty farm
While we already have a high opinion of any John Deere products from out previous tests on other machines, our test rider was equally impressed with the Gator 825i. “I really liked it. The Gator was able to do everything we needed it for on the farm and it was really a lot of fun to just take out on the trail and for hunting. I have to give it a nine out of ten,” stated our tester, Davis Schwartzback.

The John Deere Gator 825i RUV is a machine that is of exceptional quality and lives up to the high standards that the company prides itself on. The Gator gets the job done and is always ready for more, whether it is work or play. Overall we think the John Deere Gator 825i is a great machine and we highly recommend it for farming, working, or hunting applications and we hope that the folks at John Deere keep us in mind for any testing of future models.
