2012 Polaris RZR XP 900 ATV & UTV / SxS

National Guard / Coastal Racing Polaris RZR XP 900 UTV Race Test
::Continued::

One my favorite modifications they made the Polaris RZR XP 900 is the addition of electronic power steering with a 2:1 steering ratio on the steering wheel, which makes steering effortless. Unlike the stock steering ratio, the aftermarket 2:1 steering wheel eliminates hand over hand steering since the steering is twice as responsive as stock, and it felt more like steering a go-cart.

The reduced steering effort helps eliminate arm pump and fatigue in the 45 minute long WORCS race. In addition, the electronic power steering not only helps with arm pump, but it also helps the machine stay straight when hitting bumps or in our case long whooped out sections of the desert sand.

The 2:1 ratio steering makes a world of difference in the whooped out desert sand. It eliminates arm pump & helps keep the Side-by-Side steered in the right direction

The Exit shocks did a great job of soaking up the brutally rough terrain. The SxS race was held at the end of a full day of ATV racing, so the desert track was whooped out with deep sand ruts with square edge lips, which put the best suspension to the test. The track layout also included the off-road truck course, which had a few jumps as well. The Exit suspensions performed flawlessly as I was able to stay on the gas to make several passes on other SxS vehicles through the roughest sections of the course, as others were forced to slow down through the sand whoops.
