2012 Polaris RZR XP 4 900 Limited
Edition - "Liquid Silver" |
Parker, AZ (01/12/2012) - Polaris
introduced the first high performance Side-by-Side
back in 2008 with the original Polaris RZR 800,
and Polaris has kept the forward momentum going
by adding atleast one new member to the RZR model
line each year. In January 2010, Polaris announced
the first four seat high performance SxS with
the release of the 2011 RZR 4 800 Polaris, and
now just two years later, they have raised the
bar once again with the release of the all-new
2012 Polaris RZR XP 4 900, and the “Liquid
Silver” Limited Edition XP 4 900 model that
comes equipped with EPS (Electronic Power Steering)
and more.
The launch of the Polaris RZR XP 4 900 coincided
with start of the 2012 Best in the Desert racing
series, so Polaris invited out the media to
Parker, Arizona for the Parker 250 to watch
the Jagged X’s Polaris RZR XP 4 900 make
its racing debut, and two days following the
race, the media would have the opportunity to
put the RZR XP 4 900 to the test for a full
day of riding on parts of the BITD race course
along with some the Cienega Spring area trails.
Beau Baron and I arrived in Parker, Arizona
on Friday, and the Blue Water Resort & Casino,
would be our home for the next four days, and
we were not alone with atleast twenty other
media outlets along with hundreds of ATV, SxS,
and Motorcycle racers showing up for the 2012
BITD season opener.
The Polaris sponsored Jagged X Racing Team
entered three RZRs for the race, which included
the all-new RZR XP 4 900. The rear seats were
removed and it was only modified otherwise to
make it race legal for the BITD series, which
Jagged X is now offering race modifications
for a flat $10,000, which seems like a good
deal considering all the safety equipment and
fabrication that is needed to make a SxS BITD
race legal.

$10,000, Jagged X will make your Polaris
RZR XP 4 900 BITD race ready with the

Jagged
X Racing's flat tire |
Amazingly, the near stock, Jagged X’s
Polaris RZR XP 4 900 SxS was running in the
top three overall in the first half of the race
until they suffered a flat tire, and without
a spare on hand, they were forced to drive on
it for miles before being able to find a spare
and the proper tools to change the tire, which
took them out of contention for a win in the
XP 4's racing debut , but they still managed
to finish an impressive third place in the Sportsman
class and tenth overall, and I am certain they
will carry a spare tire and high powered impact
drive with them for the next race.

Polaris RZR XP 4 900 |
After having the chance to watch all the UTVs
race through the desert on Saturday, I couldn’t
wait for the chance to get behind the wheel
of the RZR XP 4 900 and see how well it performed,
and to further build up the suspense of the
test ride, Polaris held one of the most elaborate
pre ride presentation that I have ever attended.
