Parker, AZ (8/29/2013) - ATVriders.com recently had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the highly anticipated 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV. Less than a month ago, Polaris debuted the all-new Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV at the Polaris Dealers Meeting in Washington, D.C. and to many surprise they had units ready to drive on the other side of the country just a few days later at the Winchester Bay Oregon DuneFest!

With all of this exciting news, all of us at ATVriders.com were chomping at the bit for our chance to get behind the wheel of the Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV. As luck would have it, Polaris hosted their official 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV media intro last week in Parker, Arizona. Parker is home to the Blue Water Hotel and Casino, which also is at the epicenter of the Blue Water Best in Desert Challenge that takes place each year.

Best in the Desert truck driver and owner of High Point Hummer & ATV Rental in Moab, Utah, Scott McFarland, would join us on this test drive as we felt he would be well suited in this desert environment and is very familiar with the BITD Bluewater Challenge track.

We tested the all-new 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV at the Blue Water Hotel & Casino which plays host to the Best in Desert Blue Water Challenge in Parker, AZ

With average temperatures in Parker, AZ this time of year ranging above 100 degrees, Polaris decided to let the media loose early in the morning on the high-speed whooped out BITD track piloting the all-new 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV, before the desert heat began to be unbearable.

After a once over of the new changes on the machine, Scott McFarland would take the wheel of the 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS and set his sights on the open desert. McFarland was immediately impressed with how well the Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS felt.

Although the 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 may look very similar to the notable RZR XP family lineup, don’t be fooled by its familiar looks. Polaris designed the 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV from the ground up.

Once we got a good feel for 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000, it was time to head back to camp and load up the Polaris RZR XP 1000 SxS / UTV for several other driving adventures that would take place next several days on our road trip out west. Our test drive would not only include high-speed desert type driving, but we would also get a chance to test the machine in both sand dunes and high elevation rocky trails.
