Review of Oxlite's #12982 Folding Loading Ramps

Tired of loading your ATV by hand? Tired of those home-made ramps? I know that I was. One thing that I didn't know was just how many different types of ramps are out there!

The problem I was running into was either the ramps were to long to fit in the back of the truck, or to short to allow a decent climb into the truck (my truck has a 6 ft' box but is a bit higher than average due to slightly oversize tires). Most of the folding ramps I looked at were also to short, making the ride into the truck a bit hair-raising.

My EX on the ramps... a very gentle climb into the truck

Then I ran across these great ramps! They are made out of aluminum, so they are very light... rated at 1000#, more than enough to support me and my EX. At 89" long it's a nice gentle climb to the back of the truck. They fold nicely to fit in the back, and best off all they are arched for clearance (not a big deal when loading ATV's but great when loading the lawnmower to keep the mower deck from scraping).

The construction/welding is excellent. They are of a much higher quality than many of the cheaper ramps you see. At just over $200 out the door, they cost more than some, but for a few extra dollars you get a much better ramp. (for the record the cheapest folding ramps I found were $120, made from steel [VERY HEAVY], and poorly built).
