Richard Pelchat lined up for the 2nd
Moto on his new Can-Am DS450 |
When the gate dropped for the second moto, it
was John Natalie who grabbed the $200 ATVriders.com
holeshot award. Natalie was followed closely
by Byrd, Goodman, Creamer, and all three Team
Suzuki Riders, who were charging down the track
side by side, but heading into the second turn
Natalie went off the track and was pushed back
to mid pack. With Natalie out of the way, Josh
Creamer began to challenge Joe Byrd for the
lead, but by the second lap it was Dustin Wimmer
who would be challenging for 1st place.

Warnert
Racing's John Natalie Jr grabbed the
Holeshot, but a blown 2nd turn allowed
Joe Byrd to once again take over the
early lead followed by Kawasaki's Josh
Creamer
|
Shortly into the third lap, Wimmer took the
lead from Byrd and once again checked out
on the rest of the pack. As Wimmer charged
on to his second moto win, Josh Creamer and
Chad Weinen found themselves in the same position
as in Moto One, battling for second place.
Wienen once again won the battle and took
over the second spot followed by Creamer,
Natalie, and Gust, which was an exact repeat
of the first Moto.

Dustin Wimmer once again was quickly
able to take over the lead and check
out again on the competition |
Joe Byrd once again ran into issues in the
2nd Moto, but this time it was his engine,
and he spent most of the Moto watching the
race. Also, Jason Dunkelberger was brought
to a stop as well when his chained derailed
locked around the counter sprocket after a
great first Moto and top five run in the second
Moto.
Rounding out the top 10 were Harold Goodman
in 6th, John Ragon in 7th, Joe Byrd in 8th,
Sage Baker in 9th, and Pro Rookie, Nate Morello
finished in 10th, an impressive feet for his
first AMA Pro ATV debut.

Jeremy
Lawson was sidelined in Moto One, but
in Moto Two he was on the gas and finished
in 7th place |
Now that the first round of AMA ATV Motocross
Nationals is done, racers will have a three
week break to deal with repairs, and work
on set-ups for round 2 that is scheduled for
March 29-30 at Mill Creek Raceway in Pell
City, Alabama.
