- #5 Adam McGill - FRE KTM 525XC ATV Racer
- 151 Pts. |
FRE KTM 525XC Racer, Adam McGill, came off the
track at round one just missing the Podium by
one position, which fired him to push harder at
the next round because he was more than physically
prepared. During the off season, physical training
had McGill in peak shape as he dropped 30 pounds
and was riding at 100%+ during the 2 hour event.
Round 2 is where the young West Virginia native
opened up a display of riding never before seen
in the XC1 Pro ATV class by winning the event
with over a 6 minute lead, which was a GNCC record
margin for victory. Ofcourse, the gap might not
have been as large if both Ballance and Borich
weren’t sidelined, but regardless, McGill
showed everyone he had the speed on his new KTM
525XC ride.
McGill backed up his performance with a dominate
win at round 3 after grabbing the Holeshot,
and once again he held a several minute lead
over the competition at the checkered flag.
Round 4 at the Big Buck GNCC would once again
see Adam McGill claiming victory. However this
win didn’t come as easy as McGill was
had to work his way through the pack to claim
the win, which showed everyone he was now a
threat at any event in any condition!
Unfortunately, for Adam McGill, his momentum
came to a stop at Loretta Lynn’s when
he suffered mechanical failure, which knocked
him off the Podium in the final miles before
the checkered flag, and a string of bad luck
has followed McGill the last few rounds before
the summer break as he failed to break the top
10 in 3 of the last 5 rounds of racing, and
he was once again plagued with a bent shift
lever at Mountain Ridge, which dropped him back
to 5th place in the points race

- #11 William Yokley - National Guard Honda
ATV - 131 Pts. |
Sitting just outside of top 5, we find the National
Guard's William Yokely who has been putting together
his best season in several years. The switch to
a different machine in the off season and physical
training had a slimmer more fit Yokely riding
to the starting line as the season began. At Steele
Creek, Yokely found the podium after a fierce
battle with Matt Smiley that gave William the
boost he needed to dig even deeper. Again, at
“The Spartan” on his home states turf,
the Tompkinsville, KY rider found himself back
on the big stage in front of family and fans as
he took yet another Podium finish. Currently sitting
6th in points has to make the veteran rider feel
pretty good about his season thus far, and he
has the fight and determination of the William
Yokley from the past.
Beyond William Yokley’s impression run
in the Pro XC1 ATV Class, he is dominating the
new GNCC UTV racing with his Polaris / Rocky
Mountain ATV back Rzr winning the first two
rounds of the season.
