There you have it, the top 10 points riders after 9 rounds of fierce competition. Five factory backed racers, and five privateers set the stage for the second leg of 2008 GNCC racing season. Others outside the top 10 have been growing quickly and yet others have fallen back as race programs just don’t seem to be coming together for them. This season has seen an explosion of factory involvement which has shown us successes and failures and there doesn’t seem to be any big changes that are being announced. Chris Jenks and Brandon Sturdivant have both only been able to post 4 top 10 finishes between them as their woe’s continue, and last years shining star, Chris Bithell has only cracked the top 10 once, and he is a racer that had a real shot coming into this season to run upfront based on how well he did in 2007! While things will happen, we hope that those having issues can get them resolved and the second half of the season can be even more competitive.

When GNCC racing resumes at Showshoe we could be watching Bill Ballance make history again, and we could be looking at some of the best racing ever to hit us especially if a few riders can get the final bugs worked out of their machines because the fireworks could fly this weekend! I sure am glad all I have to do is watch because I know that the intensity will be at full tilt! See you all this weekend at Snowshoe!
