NE EDT Racing Freedom Speedway Race Report
::Continued::

Chuckie Creech Racing / MAXXIS / Houser Racing’s Chuckie Creech had one mission to accomplish, and that was to not crash, not make any mistakes and finish in fifth place or better, and he did just that. Creech has had one of, if not thee hardest, seasons in recent history for a Pro rider, between having both of his fully-built race bikes stolen, adapting a fellow racer’s machine to race, and win on, and building a completely new bike from the ground up to compete on. Creech has been run ragged the last third of the season.

Chuckie Creech NE EDT Racing

Chuckie Creech had to finish fifth of better to take the NE EDT Pro Championship. Creech was able to do just that by finishing second at the final round to take a well deserved NE EDT Pro ATV Championship

Creech came off the line right next to Frindt and was in a tight battle for the lead but spun heading into the first tight left-hander sending him back to fourth place but was quickly up into a battle for third place with Andrew Evanyke who fought hard for the position. Creech remained there for several laps after getting around Evanyke for third, picking his way through the tight corners of the Freedom Speedway. Creech then opened his throttle to the max as he went around the wide, banked oval of the track trying to get an edge on the other racers.

Diving into the holeshot corner later in the race, Ace, Creech and Medlin all came together with Creech coming out on top and sliding through the corner into second place with Ace dropping two positions while Medlin slid past as well into third place. Creech finding himself in second place, settled into a nice pace making strides to catch first place runner Frindt. Creech kept on the throttle and was able to hold onto second place, taking yet again another podium finish, and sealing the deal on his Pro championship for himself!

“The track was really hard to pass on and you know, you make a little contact here and there but it was a good race and it’s the last race of the year so everybody is going for the win and giving it their all. Everybody rode good and no one person was really faster than the other and I feel as a whole, everybody was pretty close tonight. My MAXXIS tires were working awesome in the little bit of blue-groove that we had and the powdery parts of the track, they were hooking up awesome too for me and normally that gives you better options to pass but it was pretty narrow here and was really hard to pass. There was a few big jumps here that were singles and my Elka shocks and Houser components soaked them up without any issue at all and we really had the bike dialed into the track. I really have to thank Eric Ashcraft with Close Encounter Whitetails, AGX Graphics, MAXXIS Tires, Houser Racing, JT Racing, WISECO, DWT wheels and with having to buy all of these new parts for the new bike Harold Goodman really helped me out with getting the new parts fast and Houser Racing got stuff to me super fast and we were able to build the bike during the last round and all of these companies knows how it is and it made a huge difference for me. This was one of my better seasons and we’ve got a great group of people helping out this year and I just feel like we can only go up from and we just need to work on my personal fitness now and get myself running at the beginning of the season like I am now, at the end of the season,” said Creech after the race.

Aaron Medlin NE EDT Racing

Aaron Medlin worked his way through the field to earn the final spot on the Pro Podium

Big Dawg Racing / B&B Motorsports / 75designs’ Aaron Medlin had been running in fifth place for the majority of the Pro main event, riding on the rear bumper of Evanyke who was also chasing down the front leaders tightly in fourth place as he and Creech swapped positions. Medlin was able to slide past Evanyke half-way through the race and get up into a contending position with Ace who was in third. As the group rounded the holeshot corner, Medlin was able to capitalize on a pass created by Creech as well and slipped by Ace in the same maneuver resulting in Medlin gaining a third place spot which he rode out for the remainder of the race. Medlin, with only his second podium finish on the year, put himself into fourth place overall for the season with one first-place finish and a final third place finish at the season finale.

Tru-Way Racing / RATH / PEP’s Brian Ace and AE3 Motorsports / ESJ / FLY Racing’s Andrew Evanyke were in a closer battle for the podium positions early on in the race with Ace heading up the charge by getting around Evanyke around the half-way point. Later in the race, Ace was bumped back to fourth place, which allowed Evanyke to close the gap and come away with a top five finish in the pro main in fifth place.

The Pro-Am class had thirteen riders for the season finale and included a few new names on the roster for the race. With the class already being wrapped up one round earlier by Michael Houghton Jr. winning the overall championship, it left the class wide open for some new names to race and was surely going to make for some exciting racing and quick action

#25 Chuckie Creech grabbed the holeshot in the Pro-Am Class

RAGE ATV / Elka Suspension / DWT’s Chuckie Creech was on a mission for the Pro-Am class and used this as an opportunity to get his bike dialed in for the track once again and started the main off on the right foot by grabbing the holeshot! Creech came blistering through the first corner with the lead and literally never looked back for the remainder of the race.
