Southside Polaris's Aaron Meyer
would have a tough first moto, all due to a large
rock. It would knock off his chain, leaving him
stuck in the back section to fix it on the first
lap. The same rock would also give KTM's Nate
Morello some problems. “Right after Aaron
hit it, the rock flew up in the air and came down
right into my top A arm causing it to bend about
an inch back. Never have I ever seen a volleyball
size rock get tossed in the air and what are the
chances it comes down right into my top a-arm,”
said Morello, who would end up with a 9th in moto
one and Meyer with a 12th.

Matt Pomeroy had a great holeshot and
took a fifth in moto one |
Matt Pomeroy would also have a good run in moto
one. He would get out third in the holeshot and
take a fifth for the first moto. Philippe Bellerose
and Jason Connell would battle it out most of
the first moto, until the end of the moto when
Joe Haavisto would move behind Connell and start
to pressure him. The two would end up getting
stuck together in the back section of the track
on the last lap, putting both riders behind after
being pulled apart. Dave Larochelle would take
the sixth place finish in moto one. Bellerose
would take the seventh, Ralle Rookey in the eighth,
Morello in the ninth, and Connell in the tenth
to round out the top ten in moto one.

Energy Kawasaki's Josh Creamer takes the
moto two Open Pro Holeshot |
The second Open Pro moto would take place on
Sunday after the first half. It had already
been drizzling for a good part of the day, but
while the Pros lined up, the rain got harder,
leaving the track very slippery. Josh Creamer
would take the moto two Open Pro holeshot, and
the second ATVRiders.com holeshot award. Creamer
would be closely followed by KTM North America's
Nate Morello and Canada's Jasmin Plante.

Philippe Bellerose holds off #64 Bobby
Desjardins coming through the holeshot
section |
The track condition would prove to be tough for
even the pros, especially for the 20 minute moto
format. Vinny Mofford would get stuck in the back
section of the track on the first lap, but would
continue after. Creamer continued his lead up
front, while Morello and Mike Pilotte battled
it out behind him. Jason Connell would hold the
fourth position during the middle of the moto,
with Rocco Arno Jr. in the fifth. Joe Haavisto
would be working his way up from the middle of
the pack, getting very close to Aaron Meyer.
