McClure secures a Podium finish after making
the pass on Dustin Nelson in the final laps
of the race |
ATVRiders.com backed racer, Jarrod McClure did
double duty this weekend. McClure raced in the
GNCC in Tennessee on Saturday and hopped a flight
out to the west coast to compete in Sunday’s
pro main event.
McClure came off the line in 7th place and held
that position for the first lap. “I kind
of took it easy on the first lap because it was
my first time on this track,” said McClure,
who after the first lap wasted no time in picking
off the competition. McClure worked up to 4th
place and began to challenge Dustin Nelson by
the 6th lap, and battled back and forth with Nelson
for half of the race, swapping positions several
times before he was able to get around Nelson
and take over third place.McClure made a charge,
but he was unable to reel in Josh Frederick before
crossing the finish line and had to settle for
the number three spot.

On Saturday,
Jarrod McClure was back east racing in
the GNCC Series at one of the muddiest
races in several years, and he grabbed
the Holeshot on his Yamaha YFZ450, but
soon after dropped back several spots
as he ran into his share of issues in
the deep mud, and found himself stuck
several times, which dropped him back
to a 10th place finish, which has him
currently 9th in the GNCC Pro Points (McClure's
Race Report)

Yamaha’s Dustin Nelson, who was feeling a
bit under the weather, got off to a good start and
led for two laps before falling back to third. Nelson
gave a valiant effort in his battle with McClure,
but not feeling well began to take its toll and
Nelson fell back to fourth place in the 11th lap,
where he would remain unchallenged all the way to
the checkered flag.

Rookie, #417 Josh Row makes his debut with
the MCR Team at Honey Lake MX as he replaces
the injuried Levi Marana who will be out
for the rest of the season with a hand injury
at the Crazy Horse GP. Row secured a 5th
place finish |
Josh Row, who is the newest addition to team
MCR, and will be taking the place of Levi Marana,
who is out on injury for the rest of the season,
had his best race so far this year. Row came off
the line in mid pack and stayed strong and consistent,
working his way to the number five spot by the
seventh lap. Row had good lap times and was gaining
ground on Dustin Nelson in the last couple of
laps, but was unable to close the gap before the
checkered flag was waved.
