Ryan Piplic Takes Two UTV Wins
at Iron Mine WORCS
::Continued::
In the Pro race, Piplic won his second race of
the weekend after topping the Pro Unlimited race.
David Haagsma took the lead early on from Cody
Bradbury and began checking out. However, a stall
on the final lap, followed by a fire in the exhaust
system of his ride handed the lead and the victory
to Piplic. Haagsma recovered to finish 10th.

The
2 Time WORCS Pro SxS Champion, #1 Ryan Piplic
secured his first WORCS Pro UTV Win of the
season at Iron Mine Race Park |
“First in Unlimited and first in Pro…you can’t
ask for a better race,” said Piplic. “I came out
third, battled with a few people and got second
behind Haagsma. He was doing his thing running
a great race. I came around on the last lap and
his car was on fire. I think I felt about as bad
as he did because I don’t want to win that way.
I’m just glad he’s ok. My rollercoaster year has
been up and down, but right now I’m at the peak.
I’m going to take this weekend for everything
it’s worth, because I really needed it.”

Pro
SXS rookie, Matthew Hancock, secured his
second straight 2nd place finish in the
WORCS Pro UTV class |
“Mickey Thomas could have taken me out today,
and he would have moved up a lot more in points,”
said Hancock. “We were literally a car length
apart for the whole race and he didn’t try to
take me out. That tells me a lot about him. We
drove a clean race. We raced each other hard and
didn’t try to take each other out. I’m second
in points, but it’s close and it’s going to come
down to the last two races. The championship is
in my sights and I have to drive like that for
the last two races.”
