The
2012 Arctic Cat Wildcat suspension can
suck up the whoops like no other SxS /
UTV on the market |
We went rather slow on our first lap around
the course, to get a feel for the Arctic Cat,
but for our second time around, we put the hammer
down and couldn’t believe how the suspension
soaked up the bumps, and handled the whoops
like no other machine we have ever been in.
“It was absolutely amazing in the whoops.
This would be a perfect vehicle for racing Baja,”
said Beau Baron. “It didn’t matter
how fast you were going, it just stayed in control
and powered right through like they were just
small breaking bumps,” he added.

The
2012 WildCat HO 1000i is one of the first
Side-by-Sides to come stock with doors.
This not only increases safety but it
give the WildCat an aftermarket look |
The Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000 feels stable and
predictable at high speeds. Even in the deepest
whoops it never felt out of control and the
back end never skipped around. We got our test
unit up to 70mph and still felt confident and
at ease behind the wheel, as did the passengers.
“I have major control issues as a passenger
in a Side-by-Side, but I never once felt tense
or uneasy riding in the Wildcat. It always felt
safe and stable,” stated Piplic.

The
2012 Arctic Cat WildCat not only features
great handling but it also features electronic
power steering that eliminates the feeling
of getting fatigued out on the trail |
Part of the unique and superior handling characteristics
of the Wildcat 1000 can be attributed to its
longer wheel base, which is approximately 13
inches longer than the Polaris RZR XP 900, that
gives it more stability and keeps it from bucking
in the whoops. The only drawback of the longer
wheel base is that the turning radius is not
as tight as on other machines, but it makes
up for that in other areas.
