The
Arctic Cat Wild Cat 1000 UTV / SxS comes
standard with these trick looking aluminum
alloy wheels |
We can’t really comment on the tires that
were mounted for the test ride because we were
told that they are not the tires that will be
used on production models, but we hope the production
Duro tires provide for better traction control
than the test tires.
Another feature of the Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000
that we really liked was the way the driver
and passenger are positioned lower in the cab
of the vehicle, which gives a lower center of
gravity and makes you feel more like you are
a part of the machine. The roll cage, or Exoskeleton
Frame as Arctic Cat calls it, offers excellent
protection and the doors provide added security
for both the driver and passenger. We did notice
that there wasn’t a left hand hold for
the passenger, but we were told that this is
something that Arctic Cat is already trying
to remedy in production models.

Even
though the the Wildcat HO 1000 UTV is
race inspired it features a cargo box
& glove box to store or tote anything
you might need along the trail |
Despite the Wildcat 1000 being a more race
inspired machine, it still provides a decent
sized cargo box that has a 300 pound capacity
and tie down hooks to secure loads, which is
something that we were quite pleased to find
as it is very convenient to carry extra gas,
tires, coolers or whatever else is needed for
longer rides.
The ergonomics of the Wildcat were incredibly
comfortable. The tilt steering wheel was in
a good location and there was plenty of leg
room, even for taller individuals. The seats
of the Arctic Cat Wildcat were very plush and
felt very comfortable. In fact we felt that
we could have ridden in this machine all day
long and not felt one bit of discomfort. The
interior is equipped with a dual cup holder
and a locking glove box that is big enough to
hold two bottles of water.

The
cockpit of the Arctic Cat WildCat 1000
SxS features tilt steering, plush seats,
dual cup holders, & digital instrument
panel, which are great features, but it
is missing one important feature for the
passengers. There isn't a left hand hold
for the passengers to hold onto, which
is something that Arctic Cat plans to
address in the near future |
Overall we were very impressed with the Arctic
Cat Wildcat 1000 as were our test riders, who
are hoping to get their own units when they
are released to the public.
“It is an awesome machine and the suspension
performs better than anything else out on the
market. I would love to take one of these to
the WORCS races and try it out,” stated
Beau Baron.
“This is by far the best Side-by-Side
out there. It looks amazing and the handling
is unbeatable. Arctic Cat really did a great
job on this machine,” added Ryan Piplic.
We feel that Arctic Cat has definitely brought
a new level of performance to the playing field
with the Wildcat 1000. The handling of the Wildcat
is unmatched by anything else on the market
and it will look absolutely amazing as you are
blazing past everyone else in rough and whooped
out terrain. We hope that we are able to bring
one of these home soon and be able to do some
further testing on it and see how it will perform
out on the track. And we really hope it won’t
be too long as we are already eager to take
it for another ride..
