The
Polaris Ranger HD is equipped with a self
leveling suspension for a better ride
for heavy loads approaching the 1,000
lb cargo bed capacity |
The Polaris Ranger HD power is rated at 40 hp,
quite enough when you have it loaded to its 1000
pound capacity, and it handles extremely well
loaded thanks to its new self leveling shocks.
I did not notice the self leveling at first, however
when you have it loaded you can feel it work and
it stabilizes the machine very well. The new seat
and other ergonomic changes follow through to
each ranger model and stand to enhance even further
the benefits of the 2009 models.
The XP model boasts the same improvements with
exception of the self leveling shocks and power
steering. All the Ranger line received updated
front end protection in the form of new full
bumpers and recessed headlights along with improved
front differential protection. Sharing the HD’s
700cc power plant, the XP isn’t lacking
in form or function and one would decide if
the upgrades found in the HD model would justify
the expense of buying the premier model.

Ranger 500 4x4 UTV |
The Ranger 4x4 500cc is the smallest displacement
in the line up, however it feels right at home
when doing usual farm/ranch chores and has the
dual arm adjustable suspension just like its
bigger displacement brethren. It’s on
demand AWD will get you in and out of places
in a snap and makes a great companion to any
job site or farm environment. It to received
all the updated comforts and should fill a nice
niche in the market.
For those that need more carrying capacity
in regards to people, the Ranger Crew should
fit the bill. With seating for 6 adults, you
won’t even have a gas bill if your hunting
buddies pitch in for gas! This machine features
a 1 ton towing capacity and more storage then
any other UTV on market. If you’re a hunter
with friends or have the need to move people
on a job site, it’s a clear winner. 700cc
of power can lug around everything needed including
the people to get the job done when you get
there. The Ranger 6x6 follows the Crew model
as the pair heads up a specialty market that
works at getting the job done with highlights
on a specific set of demands. The 6x6 model
excels in the traction department and has the
most forward traction in its class. It will
probably go through more then you’re willing
to attempt!
