2009 Polaris Ranger & Rzr Test Ride Review

2009 Pure Polaris Ranger & Rzr UTV Accessories Review
::Continued::

For 2009, PURE Polaris has been busily trying to keep up with the designers at the Ranger division and they sure weren’t sleeping on the job when it came time to release new equipment and accessories for the Ranger line. Walking into a sectioned off area to view the items in action, it was immediately aware these were not toys.

Polaris has announced some exciting new accessories for their Ranger Models, and our favorite is the new grappling unit with 500lbs of lifting capacity, and it is easy to operate with the conveniently located controls mounted to the left of the steering wheel

The new Polaris BOSS lift and carry system is meant for getting the job done, and I was surprised at how well it actually works. With a 500 pound lifting capacity, one man and his UTV can now get in some work and play via the new systems flexibility. A new brush grappling unit can grab a hold of tree’s, brush and pretty much anything you can fit in its massive jaws! And the thing works! Not that I am a skeptic, but sometimes it makes me scratch my head when I see things on the market that have no real functionality much less work as advertised. Watching the Ranger HD out-fitted with the grapple grab a tree trunk and carry it all over the place proved to me it indeed worked and worked well. I was already scratching things off the honey-do list as I got my chance to operate it!

New Pure Polaris V Plow
The new V plow will surely make short work of the white stuff and I don’t know about you, but playing in the snow and clearing out my neighbors drive ways sure seems like a great way to play on the machine..errr… I mean work. Need some gravel or dirt moved? The bucket attachment worked pretty slick as an awaiting pile of gravel was picked up and moved all day long as the media put it through its paces.

Getting away from the attachments before I started excavating the countryside, I ran smack dab into all the other goodies available for the Ranger and Razr line. Everything you could want seems to be available, from fully enclosed cabs and windshields, to stylish tops to keep the sun off you. Got tires? Well they have several different units available to allow a spare to be mounted along with gun racks, lock and go cargo boxes, bed extenders and even a lockable glove box if you have the need for it! You could literally outfit your machine for whatever conditions you think you may encounter, and even a few you wouldn’t expect.

Polaris has a wide assortment of accessories available for their entire Ranger & Rzr model line-up

Polaris has taken a different direction for 2009, as these changes did not come cheap. They have invested heavily in changes that actually make a difference on models that are continually at the top of sales across the world. I am sure they could have stretched each model out for another year or more without many improvements and there wouldn’t have been many complaints, however seeing the depth at which they are reaching to make the best products they can is a sure sign they will maintain their status in the marketplace. Their job is done, now it is up to you to go kick some tires and see for yourself what they have to offer. I was impressed by the Ranger and Razr and blown away by the Razr S and can’t wait to get a hold of these models to test and review in more depth.

As for the Ranger HD, I think so highly of it that I will be replacing my personal Ranger when they become available. Multi tasking just took on a whole new meaning.
