2009 Polaris Ranger & Rzr Test Ride Review

2009 Polaris Ranger & Rzr UTV Test Ride Review
Featuring the All-New Ranger HD & Rzr S Models

Polaris Rzr & Rzr S Links
Polaris Ranger HD, XP, & 4x4
Millville, MN - Sitting on the plane, waiting for the take off to attend the 2009 Polaris ATV / UTV Model launch, I began thinking of what I was in for once I reached my final destination. This was my first manufacture event and I had a sinking feeling I would be the one to draw the “bold new graphics” type of release. Now we all know that each year the manufactures can’t revamp their line up to please everyone, but as I sat there in my flying tin can I was already starting to depress myself as I envisioned a new custom color or a new tread design as the highlight of my trip.

Well folks, I am happy, and ecstatic to relay to you that the little man in my head was just a tad bit off in his pre conceived notions! Not only did Polaris revamp their ATV / UTV line up, they blew the doors off the sucker! When the 2009 ATV and UTV models were brought out in front of us, being operated by Polaris Pro race team members, everyone’s jaw dropped. From every direction new shiny models were being jumped, slid and sent sideways for our viewing pleasure! When the machines were finally brought to a halt, we got our first up close and personal look at them, and man was the changes evident.

2009 Polaris Ranger HD & Ranger RZR S UTV Model Line-Up
For 2009 Polaris expanded their UTV / Side X Side line-up with the release of two new high performance models the Ranger HD & Rzr S. Also, the highly popular Ranger Crew is back along with the Ranger XP, Ranger 4x4, and Rzr

The now familiar Polaris Ranger was looking sharp, and the infamous Rzr was now being delivered in its now legendary form and new for 2009 in a wider and more aggressive platform in the Rzr S model! I had to excuse myself from the group to take the little guy that had me worried around the corner and kick him square in the pants! Not only was I feeling privileged by being invited by Polaris to attend, they were feeding me non stop updates on all the changes that were everywhere on every machine it seemed and truly were excited to show us what they had accomplished. There would be no boring bold new graphics for me, just some intense stuff of what these guys have been up to back in the secret buildings at Polaris central!

2009 Polaris Rzr S UTV Model
2009 Polaris Rzr S raises the bar for high performance UTV / Side X Side vehicles
I was drooling over the new Polaris Rzr S, with its aggressive stance, stylish grace and plain out mean look! The changes over the standard Rzr as compared to the Rzr S started at its widened stance, which was increased to 60 inches by the way of new long travel suspension that is sure to allow you to make good use of its new 63 mph top speed! The new chrome-moly control arms are fitted to adjustable Fox shocks with reservoirs featuring 12 inches of suspension travel to help smooth out the road less traveled. The Rzr S model is meant to be pushed, and now has the items needed on the base model to allow one a fully custom machine straight from the factory. With the new suspension on the S model, the 760cc engine was tuned to deliver even more power over the base Rzr model and wears the new moniker H.O. and helps get the machine to its top speed even faster.
