015 Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 Review

2015 Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 Review
::Continued::

Since it is designed to be both a recreational and work vehicle the power curve is more linear to be controllable in both environments. You wouldn’t want a touchy throttle when backing up to a trailer or hauling a load would you? You would probably end up running into the trailer or loosing your load!  This is why Polaris decided to tune the Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 a little differently than the Scrambler and stay true to what the Sportsman lineup is known for.

The Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 is designed to be at home on the farm but still have the ability to out out on the trail & have fun on

Don’t let the Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 fool you though, there are still quite a few ponies that can be released when you want them. The 952cc Twin EFI engine with a SOHC delivers smooth precise power. Soon after throwing a leg over the Polaris Sportsman XP 1000, we got comfortable enough to start riding it aggressively and we really enjoyed the smooth predictable throttle response.

To help deliver power to the ground, Polaris upgraded the AWD system to a new high performance close-ratio AWD. This new system engages all four tires faster than before to provide more traction when needed. We noticed new high performance close-ratio AWD helped to pull us through the deep sand ruts when cornering.

Polaris paired the new AWD system with electronic power steering that comes standard on the Polaris Sportsman XP 1000. The combination produces stable and predictable handling that will help keep you in the seat all-day without getting arm pump or feeling tired.

Also contributing to the smooth ride is the Active Descent Control (ADC) and Engine Braking System (EBS) that come standard. Polaris added these two features to give you better control while going downhill. This system reduces the need of using conventional braking, thus reducing the wear on the hydraulic disk brakes. The area around Hog Canyon can vary 1000 feet or more in elevation, so of course we traversed many hills during our test ride. The ADC and EBS did a nice job of slowing the machine down while going downhill and we always felt in control of the vehicle despite it weighting in at 822 lbs.
