Terra Cross RT Tires in action on the Can-Am
Outlander 500 Utility ATV |
Finally installed and on the trail, the increased
traction provided was instantly noticed as well
known trails were now taken with confidence. Traction
improvement was apparent everywhere as obstacles
that are more difficult were tackled, from slow
hill climbs to steep descents, the bite was always
there. Hills that were a challenge with the stock
tires were now nothing more then playful fun as
the wrap around shoulder lug tread pattern gripped
through rutted corners and getting the machine
to slide was now taking effort as the tires now
dug in and hooked as compared to stock. Backing
off the throttle for a more leisurely stroll,
the ride quality was adequate and the tire roll
was all but gone. This was a huge plus to a novice
rider who noted this after the first ride, and
a huge benefit to our aggressive riders who now
were getting positive feedback through the bars
as corners were taken at a higher rate of speed.

Entering an area where tearing up the grass would
be a concern, the tires did little damage as long
as one did not get on the gas hard through the
corners. While not completely unnoticeable, the
tread on the Terra Cross RT was more “green
“ friendly then all out mud tires which
should help when one must tread lightly. For the
trails, these tires should be a perfect match
for most utility ATV’s looking for a good
all around replacement tire that adds so much
over the stock tires in regards to handling and
traction. The decreased roll in the corners had
our women test rider the most pleased as she felt
this was the biggest advantage with the new tires
installed. Once she spent some time getting used
to the new feel, and her speeds increased to moderate
trail pace, the added traction pulling up hills
and out of corners had her singing high praise
for the new tire.
Added looks, great handling, superior traction
and reliability are all one can ask for and the
