Olympia, Washington - MCR’s
Beau Baron still maintains the Pro points lead after
a grueling round six of the 2009 WORCS series, but
it was GNCC Racer, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s
Chris Borich, who stole the show and the Pro ATV
class win.
The WORCS X section of track that was built specifically
for the event was particularly challenging this
time around with riders having to negotiate tractor
tires, buried logs, sewer culverts, and even a
partially buried van. A concrete barrier/log jump
proved to be especially tough and saw many racers
having to make several attempts at it before clearing
the obstacle. Besides the obstacle course, the
track featured a decent sized motocross section
and plenty of woods and trails.

The
Pro ATV Racing weekend kicked off with the
2nd Annual WORCS X on Friday Night, and
the track layout for this years event was
one of the best ever with a great combination
of obstacles, which included a mini-van
climb |
Anticipation was high going into round six not
only because this round marked the return of 2008
Pro champ Josh Frederick, who had missed round
five and has been recovering from a badly broken
leg, but also because GNCC Pro ATV points leader
Chris Borich would be making his WORCS racing
debut.

GNCC
Pro ATV Racer, #2 Chris Borich, made the
nearly 3,000 Mile drive from PA to compete
in the WORCS Series, while the GNCC Series
is on Summer Break & Sean Reddish went
over the rules and procedures with Borich
before Sunday's Pro Main |
Can-Am / Motowork's 2 Time
Champion, Josh Frederick, missed Round 5
in Washington, with a broken leg, which
dropped him out of the points lead, but
he made his return in hopes of defending
his title |
The plentiful trails and woods section of the
track made Chris Borich feel right at home and
it certainly showed in his performance. Although
he started in the second row, Borich was in the
top five off the line, managing to slip past a
pile up that claimed DAT’s Kawasaki’s
Robbie Mitchell and couple of others, and made
quick work of the competition, taking the lead
by lap two of the 11 lap race.

Yamaha's
Dustin Nelson grabbed the ATVriders.com
Holeshot Award by outrunning Josh Frederick
& Doug Eichner to the first turn, and
amazingly, Chris Borich, slipped his way
into 8th place out of the gate starting
from the 2nd row |
